These are Dustin Diaz inspired headshots done on a shoestring strobist budget with friend and photographer Christian Mildh. We learned a lot about using extremely low flash exposure values for shooting wide open at f/1.4 to get these low key shots. I had to knock off a few stops by applying an extra neutral density gel, and we also snooted the back light to reduce spill.
