This is a recent portrait of Luke. We had a great time shooting together. Here is an example of using a little fill flash at sunset. This was taken with a Nikon SB26 flash set manually to 1/4 power through a Lastolite Ezybox softbox, triggered with PWs. Shot with a Canon 5D and EF 16-35mm f/2.8 II lens at 16mm, ISO 250, f/9.0, 1/200 sec.

The day was hot and humid in Florida for the annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk on Saturday. The night ended with a sunset over Lake Monroe in Sanford, Florida. Thanks to Charlie Howse for leading our local group for a nice photography walk! Check out the official Worldwide Photo Walk 3 Flickr Group.

The sunrise was reflecting off the cloud tops on Florida’s west coast. Thanks to wildlife pro Jim Urbach for teaming up for a nice morning of birding and wildlife photography!

These are on-location, environmental portraits of the kids playing with a Tinkertoy Construction set. The context is somewhere between posed and candid. The location is the living room of a friend’s house and the TV is lighting the background. The TV was turned off for the second shot and a small softbox was placed on the floor in front.

Ran into a few active gators on the Wekiva River while doing some photography on the kayak! These were taken just after the gator encounter when one swerved and ducked under my boat. (:
